The sortiment series is a series with all kinds of engravings which Delhez started in 1934 and would add works to throughout his life. Many were made during Delhez’s years in Bolivia but the majority after settling in Chacras de Coria. This series contains several well known subseries from Delhez like the Torbellinos (Study without support), Stone, Habitantes de Chacras de Coria (People from Chacras de Coria), Architecture et nostalgie (Architecture and nostalgia), the more abstract Bagatel lino’s series and the Microscherzino series, one of the few works where Delhez used colour in his engravings.

All works in this series are preceded by the letter S of Sortiment which is French for assortment. The Breda catalog which we mainly used for compiling the Works Overview pages only goes to S274. A family member of Delhez has added the numbers S275 to S478 by hand, but only the numbers, no further explanation. We therefore have no title, dates, dimensions neither we know which engraving technique Delhez used for these works. We know they were (probably) made in Chacras de Coria, Argentina, but that’s it. Because there are many works in the S series, we have divided them into different sub-series. In the subseries column you will see a certain code consisting of a few letters and a number. The legend below gives you more information about what these letter codes want to say. The number after the letter code is the sequence number of this series.
