S101 – Stone VI
$737,07
This is the sixth engraving in a series that is often marked with the letter P (1 to 7) from the Spanish ‘Piedra’ meaning stone. It is a series that revolves around Delhez’s own sculptures (except S88 or P3 where it is a sculpture by Lorenzo Dominguez). The complete series includes the numbers S82, S84, S88, S89, S95, S101 and S102, but we only have S101 in our collection.
This engraving is sometimes called ‘Fantasy in fugue built around Pushkin’s bronze horse.’ It was created between June the 7th and November 24th, 1945, in Chacras de Coria (Argentina).
The price of this work is higher than most other works in the sortiment series, because Stone is one of Delhez’s more famous series. Someone messed with a gum at the bottom of the engraving, it might be Delhez himself who did this, but otherwise the engraving is in perfect condition.
