Les Fleurs Du Mal series

Officially Delhez started with Les Fleurs Du Mal series in 1932 but we have a letter to his sisters Jeanne and Alice stating that the first works were already made in 1928.

This five-part series with a total of 61 works would make Victor Delhez famous. There’re based upon the work of the French poet Charles Baudelaire. We currently only own 10 works from this series and a printed portfolio with 20 works.

All engravings in this series are preceded by the letter B from Baudelaire and the original titles are all in French. Each description has an excerpt from Baudelaire’s works (in French) attached to it too.
