E24 – Preaching in the synagogue

“Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown” (Luke IV, 24)

The word of Christ provides division. There is arguing. The priests leave the room with their noses upside down. Mary sits listening before the altar and prays. People also listen against the wall, behind the altar. However, there are two contradictions and the mysterious already perceived character is again present, leaning again against a pillar as if to say confidently, “That man’s word divides, but the division he thinks is not the actual division that this word causes.”
