E96 – Reception of the Holly spirit

“Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.“ (Luke XXIV, 45 – 47)
Again a letter was formed in this engraving, namely the S for Spiritus. Delhez had the apostles and disciples form this arabesque in uninterrupted embrace, in order to interpret unity in grace and mercy. The wind is clearly blowing through the group and although rather vaguely drawn we also see a pigeon in the top right corner.
This work was made in Chacras de Coria (Argentina) between the 14th of August and the 4th of December 1942.
