A10 – Half an hour of silence

899,00

“When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” (Revelation VIII, 1)

This engraving is situated before the opening of the seventh seal. A giant scroll (book) occupies the upper part of the engraving. From there, the seals have fallen into a triangular depth, bordered on either side in black by a sort of summary of the previous engravings in this series, horsemen, angels, saints, etc…

This work was made in Chacras de Coria (Argentina) but an exact sketching and finishing date is unknown, Contrary to what Delhez usually did, for this series – starting from A9 – he forgot to write down the correct dates and afterwards he couldn’t remember them. This work comes in a passe-partout with a (removable) protective film over the engraving.
