A49 – Unknown title
“Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation XXI, 1 – 4)
The Breda Catalog from which we get the accompanying information stops at A11. From this engraving we therefore have no additional information, only the bible verse because it is on the engraving itself.
There is no title written on the engraving (Delhez must have forgotten it) so we don’t know what the exact title of this work is. The work is in a frame and there’re small traces of yellow due sunlight around the passe-partout. The work itself has no damage. If you don’t want the frame please tell us when ordering and we will refund you €50 on the listed price or convert them into 500 Fikpoints you can use on your next order.
This work was made in Chacras de Coria (Argentina) but an exact sketching and finishing date is unknown, Contrary to what Delhez usually did, for this series – starting from A9 – he forgot to write down the correct dates and afterwards he couldn’t remember them.
