E29 – The first temple cleansing
€999,00
“In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.“ (John II, 14 – 15)
The first temple cleansing differs from the second because it concerns a Jehovah, an undisputed cleansing. Jesus is a real Jehovah here. Everyone flees, except for the child standing below Jesus as if realizing that Jesus’ wrath is not directed at him. The same counts for the blind beggar who also stands still.
