E6 – The star of the wise

“After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.” (Matthew II, 9)
The landscape – the Cochabamba Valley – was seen from the road to Incaraca. Recognizable are of course the star and the three small figures sitting on camels. In this engraving the star is much more important than in E7 (The star of the shepherds) as you can see when you look at this subsequent engraving.
This work was made in Cocaraya (Bolivia) between the 6th and 25th of May 1934.
