E93 – Women at Via Crucis
€799,00
“Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.” (Luke XXIII, 28 )
Jesus is dragged on barefoot and the ground is rough. He braces himself to comfort the women present and to make it clear to them that the sins and especially the sins of those who will follow are to be mourned. For that reason, a double is seen standing behind every woman, except behind Mary, who will not die. In the distance you can see the Stations of the Cross.
This work was made in Chacras de Coria (Argentina) between the 25th of Oktober 1940 and the 10th of January 1941.
