A20 – St. John measures the temple
€899,00
“I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.” (Revelation XI, 1 – 2)
The Breda Catalog from which we get the accompanying information stops at A11. From this engraving we therefore have no additional information, only the bible verse because it is on the engraving itself.
This work was made in Chacras de Coria (Argentina) but an exact sketching and finishing date is unknown, Contrary to what Delhez usually did, for this series – starting from A9 – he forgot to write down the correct dates and afterwards he couldn’t remember them. This work comes in a passe-partout with a (removable) protective film over the engraving.
