“Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John VI, 68 – 69)
Delhez wanted to express passion in this engraving above all by making Jesus wait anxiously for the answer of He who was the stone for his church and the rock on which it must rest.
Like E43 (1st multiplication of breads and fish), Delhez drew this engraving in Bolivia (Cocaraya), but it was not engraved until later in Chile. This work was made between the 14th of June and 23th of November 1937.
