E3 – Birth of John the Baptist

999,00

“He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” (Luke I, 63)

The architecture is very precisely depicted in this engraving. The two groups are clearly separated from each other. The vignettes in the corners indicate the verse. The man (or the angel) represents Saint Matthew, the lion represents Saint Mark, the ox Saint Luke and the eagle represents Saint John of Patmos.

This work was made in Cocaraya (Bolivia) between the 8th of February and the 20th of March 1934.
